Hero Arts Foliage and Flowers

Hey crafty friends.  Today I have two cards created with the Hero Arts Foliage and Flowers Fancy Die.  This is in the Add Ons for the September release and boy did I have fun with it.  There are 8 dies in this set.  Instead of cutting them apart, they fit on a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white Hammermill cardstock so I simply ran the entire thing through my die cutting machine and cut out 4 sets.  This gave me plenty of pieces to play with and see what I could come up with.

As you can see from my sneak peek picture, I decided to color the images with copic markers.  I used the flicking technique which is super easy to do and all the colors used are listed below.

How to create the Hero Arts Foliage and Flowers Fancy Die Cards:

Start with die cut pieces cut from Hammermill white cardstock.

Next, use copic markers to color the pieces:  Browns:  E31, E35, E57, Greens:  YG91, YG95, YG97  Blues:  B91, B93, B95  Yellows:  YR31, YR21, YR24

Color a scrap of white cardstock with the yellow markers big enough to stamp the sentiments on, and then fussy cut them out.

Creating the Background:

Also in the Add Ons release this month is a BEAUTIFUL Fall Leaves Hot Foil Plate.  I did hot foil it for another card, but decided to use my embossing mat to create an embossed background with it.

Start by cutting a piece of Hero Hues Mist cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, spritz with water, place over the foiling plate, with the embossing rubber on top and run through the die cutting machine.

Next, once the piece is dry, adhere it to a top folding A2 sized card base in Hammermill White (I like white on the inside of my cards).

Lay out the pieces in the pattern you wish.

Next, cover them with a piece of Press n’ Seal, press down firmly on the pieces so you can turn it over and add small pieces of foam tape on the back

Finally, attach the art piece to the card front.

Embellish with a white gel pen and Autumn Leaves Gem Mix from Picket Fence Studios.
