How to create the Lots of Luck Friend Card.

Start by stamping the Pot O’ Gold pot onto the center bottom of a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white hammermill cardstock in a copic friendly in.  I’m using Gina K Amalgam.

Next, stamp it again onto a Gina K Masking Magic piece, and cut out the image to create a mask over the pot.

Then, Using the Lots of Luck Stamp and Die set, add the grass, clovers, and clover flowers.

  • Inks Used:  All Pawsitively Saturated Inks from Simon Says Stamp
  • Grass & clover leaves  Dublin, and Lucky (names fit the theme don’t you think, haha).
  • Clover flowers:  Lilac, Orchid, Amethyst
  • Ink Blended background:  Seafoam.

PRO-TIP – as Simon Says Stamp has a light, medium and dark ink for each of their colors, this makes it super easy to pick colors for the Layered Stamping Technique, as you know they are all going to go perfectly together.

This is a layered stamp set, so start with the lightest to the darkest inks as you work through the layers.

Finally, using a blending brush and the Seafoam ink, gently add a light layer of the blue around the outside edges to frame the art piece.

Place inside the Misti and stamp the sentiment in black ink.

Lots of Luck Friend Card Coloring the Pot:

Start by removing the mask, and then color the pot with Copic markers.

Pot:  N2, N3, N5, N7, N9, N10

Clover:  G14, G17, G19

Gold: Y11, Y15, Y26, E27

Use a Sakura White Gel Pen #10 to add highlights.

On a separate scrap of white, stamp the additional coins, color them and fussy cut them out.  Lay them around the base of the pot.

Finally, I added a bit of Pointillism on the grass and clover using the G17 and G17 copic markers.

  1. Hi, S –
This is LOVELY – so pretty! I wish I could have picked up this set, the pot’o’gold die and the dies to match the stamps but I really need to watch myself just now. Your card is a beauty and whoever gets it will be the lucky one! A) They have you for a friend and B) It’s a fantastic card.
