Hey card making friends, welcome back. Today I’m so excited – it’s the unveiling of the Spellbinders April Clubs, and to all my stitching peeps out there – this is our month! My card today is the Spellbinders Stitched Die of the Month April 2024 Club kit, BUT, the entire club releases for April, is all about stitching. I have been having a blast creating cards with the new sets – so here’s the very first one for the month.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
Check out the flowers closely as there are several different ways you can stitch them this month and I’ve sharing 3 ways today. The background is also the New Embossing Folder Club for April – Faux Stitched Petal. The needle and thread are from the Large Die of the Month Club, and the sentiment, is the Bonus item for signing up for the Deluxe Caboodle Club of the Month.
How to create the Stitched Die of the Month April 2024 Card.
Start by using a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Pomegranate card stock, spritz it and place it inside the Faux Stitched Petal Embossing Folder and run it through the die cutting machine. When dry, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.
Next, die cut the embroidery hoop from Portabella card stock and the inside from white. Cut the closure piece at the top from Brushed Gold. Glue them all together and use foam squares to attach to the card base.
Stitched Die of the Month April 2024 – Stitching the flowers:
Die cut the flowers from scraps of Pink Sand, White and Pomegranate cardstock. Then use DMC thread to stitch them.
I used White, 349 for the red and 776 for the pink.
You can do a leaf design (large red flower), full stitch (large pink flower), or running stitch (small pink flower).
Next, die cut the leaves and matching sprigs, glue them all together.
Then, using foam squares and Bearly Art Glue, starting at the top with the red flower, glue in all the flowers. Next, glue in all the greenery.
Finally, cut out the sentiment, and a red panel for behind it, the needle from silver and the thread from Pink Sand. Attach them all to the card and then embellish with Red Color Essential Gems.
