The Japanese Anemone die set is so fun to play with that I made two cards to share with you today and I did the background with the Botanical Honeycomb 3/d embossing Folder, rubbed with Sike Simon Hurley Lunar Paste.  I decided on black because I really wanted those anemones to POP right off the card.

Products Used for todays Altenew Japanese Anemone Cards:

Teal die cut flower card on a black background with gold rub created with new card making supplies from Altenew

How to create the Altenew Japanese Anemone Cards:

Start with watercolor paper and create the color of flowers you want with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.  I used Violet Brocade/Lilac Waterfall, Green Parade/Falling Leaves and Atlantis Burst.

Next, die cut all the pieces and ink blend them for some added depth and detail before gluing them together.

purple die cut flowers on a black background with a gold rub created with new card making supplies from Altenew

How to create the Altenew Japanese Anemone Backgrounds

Start by cutting a piece of black cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, and emboss with the botanical Honeycomb 3D embossing Folder.

Next, using your finger and the Sike Lunar Paste, rub it gently over the embossed areas to highlight them.  Set aside to dry.

Create a white A2 sized card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.  Once the card front is dry, attach it to the front.

finally, attach the flowers and the die cut sentiments.
