I had fun with this one, Trying to Win the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. It started with this month’s Embossing Folder Club, the lovely Checkered Argyle, which is quite conservative and lovely. Then I decided our little Festive Friends needed to be included (Small Die of the Month Club), and after I got his sweater all argyled to match the background, I thought, “Ugly Christmas Sweater.” So I grabbed the reindeer dies from the Large Die of the Month Club, Cozy Toes Slippers. Slippers one minute, Ugly Christmas Sweater the next, haha. I love how the dies can coordinate each month; you can have so much fun combining them.

Products Used for today’s card:
- Festive Friends – Small Die of the Month Oct 2024
- Holiday Besties – Clear Stamp and Die of the Month Oct 2024
- Checkered Argyle – Embossing Folder Club Oct 2024
- Cozy Toes Slippers – Large Die of the Month Oct 2024
How to create the Trying to Win the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest Card.
Start with a Waterfall colored card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, emboss it with the Checkered Argyle Embossing Folder before attaching it to a A2 sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).
Next, die cut all the bear pieces, and argyle emboss the Peridot Green part of his sweater too before gluing them all together.
Then, use the reindeer dies from the Cozy Toes Slippers die set to create the reindeer and attach him to the front of the Polar Bears sweater.
Pulling it all together:
Next, cut out the penguin from the Festive Friends Small Die of the month kit, and die cut the star halo.
Then, stamp the sentiment from the Holiday Besties Clear Stamp and Die Set of the month. Die cut it out with the coordinating dies and attach with foam squares to the top of the card.
Finally, using more foam squares, attach the bear and then the penguin.
Bam, you’ re done. This ends up being a two layer card and it’s not that heavy, so great for mailing without extra postage.
PS – I think he is pretty cute and I don’t think he will win the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest!
