Hi, card-making friends. Welcome back to my blog. Today, I have 3 cards from the NEW WAFFLE FLOWER RELEASE to share with you. I’m calling these the Life is Better with Friends Handmade Cards. This is such a fun release, and I had a blast creating these cards. I know you will enjoy creating with these new die sets, too. The sentiment sets are fabulous as well, and while I didn’t use them today, they do have coordinating dies, which I LOVE. It gives you so many additional options with your sentiments.

How to create the Life is Better with Friends Handmade Cards – Card #1 – Frogs
Start by die cutting an oval slightly smaller than your card front from white cardstock. Mask off the top half and ink blend Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China and Tumbled Glass. Leave the mask in place, and splatter with water and then white paint.
Next, once the water is dry, flip the mask and ink blend the sky with Scattered Straw and Kitsch Flamingo.
Then, die cut all the art pieces. Ink blend with Mowed Lawn, Rustic wilderness, Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries and Gathering Twigs. Add some white paint splatter to the lily pads, Set aside to dry.
Finally create a A2 sized white card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 5-1/2. Cut a Mint colored card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attach to the card front. Next, place the oval in the Misti and stamp the sentiment with Nocturne Black Ink before attaching it to the center of the card with foam squares. Finally, add all the art pieces, and then add some highlights with a #10 white gel pen.

How to create the Life is Better with Friends Handmade Cards – Card #2 – Duck Butts:
Products used:
Start by creating the same card base as in Card 31 and adding a Hero Arts Paradise colored card front.
Next, using a piece of watercolor paper on a protected surface, spritz with water and then add Lindy’s Magical Powders in: Tibetan Poppy teal and Shabby Turbine Teal. Once dry, cut out the pond and attach to the bottom center of the card front. Place the card front into the Misti and stamp the center in black at the top.
Then, die cut the duck butts and bull rushes. Ink blend the bull rushes. Color the duck butts with copic markers N1, N2, N3 before gluing on the feet.
Finally, attach all the die cuts to the card front with foam tape and then add white highlights with a #10 white gel pen.
How to create the Life is Better with Friends Handmade Cards – Card #3 – Swans:
Products Used:
Swanderful Stamp Set (there are coordinating dies as well).
Nested Ovals Dies
Start by creating the top folding A2 White card base as in #1.
Next, cut a piece of Spellbinders Surf Blue cardstock and secure it to a protected work surface. Cover it with the new Shimmering Water Stencil and then ink blend through it with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. Once the ink is dry, attach it to the card base.
Next, cut an oval, and repeat the steps from the frog card to create the sunset on the water background.
PRO-TIP – this Oval is larger than the frog card as the swans are a lot bigger.
Then, die cut all the art pieces. Color the swans with Copic Markers N0-N1-N2, and ink blend the bull rushes with Mowed Lawn and Gathering Twigs Distress Oxide Ink.
Finally, use the Misti to stamp the sentiment in black ink on the top center of the oval before attaching it to the card front with foam squares.
