September Club Card – Sunflowers & Pumpkins

Hey cardmaking friends!  It’s the 6th of the month, and that means NEW Spellbinders Clubs – YEAH!  I’m kicking off the month with the Large Die of the Month: Sunflowers and Showers.

These die sets are always so generous and versatile.  Not only can you mix and match the pieces with other sets in your stash, but sometimes you only need a small portion of the set to create an entire card – and that’s exactly what I did today.  I chose just the beautiful sunflowers and pumpkins to create this cheerful fall design, in my signature colors.

I am also IN LOVE with the new AUTUMN BARK EMBOSSING FOLDER – just WOW.  The texture is amazing, and with some simple ink blending and a little splatter,  it created the perfect background for my sunflowers and pumpkins.  I think it ended up with a bit of a watercolor look.  What do you think?

Scroll down, and I’ll tell you how I create it.

Products used to create the Sunflowers & Pumpkins Fall Card:

Handmade fall card featuring bright yellow sunflowers and aqua pumpkins on a textured white and turquoise background, finished with a “Counting You Among My Blessings” sentiment.

How to create the Sunflowers and Pumpkins Fall Card:

Create the card base:

Trim a panel of White Cardstock to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and emboss it with the Autumn Bark 3D embossing folder.  Lightly blend Surf ink onto the center of the panel, allowing it to fade out towards the edges.

Place the panel into a Splat box and add splatters of white and black paint.

Once dry, use foam tape to attach the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.

Create the Sunflowers and Pumpkins:

Use the dies from the Sunflowers & Showers Large Die of the Month to die-cut two sunflowers and the 3 pumpkins from white cardstock.
Ink-blend the die-cut pieces with the following colors, then assemble them with glue:

Place the pieces inside the Splat box, and splatter them with white paint only.

  • Yellows:  Lemonade, Sunbeam, Honey
  • Browns:  Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha
  • Greens:  Sprout, Fairway, Field
  • Turquoise:  Surf, Ocean

Construct the Card:

Using foam squares, attach the sunflowers down the left side of the card.  Layer the three turquoise pumpkins over the bottom of the stems to create a fun fall arrangement.

Stamp and die-cut a sentiment from the Stuffed with Gratitude Clear Stamp and Die Set, then add it to the right side of the card to balance the design.

Finally, embellish with a few Onyx Color Essential Gems for a little extra shine and contrast.

The BEST DEAL –  is definitely the All Clubs Crate, which includes some fabulous bonus items this month too.  The Hello Foxy Die set is absolutely adorable – and it’s next up on my worktable!  I also love the sweet, tuckered-out  Too Much Turkey die set, which pairs perfectly with so many of the sentiments in the Stuffed with Gratitude Clear Stamp and Die Set.

And here’s the best part:  Sign up for the All Club Crate and save 58% off the total club price!  That’s a whole lto of fall crafty goodness in one box!

  1. I love this card so much. Sunflowers just make me happy and I like that you chose to make your pumpkins blue. While pumpkins here are orange, in Australia they are blue. Love everything about this card. I always look forward to your designs. I’m not from Australia, but I had friends there.
