Too Much Turkey – Fun Thanksgiving Card

This week I seem to have caught the Shabby Chic vibe with my cardmaking, haha!  Funky backgrounds, fun colors and lots of splatter – and I have another one for you today.  This time, I’m creating with one of the All Club Crate Bonus items, the adorable Too Much Turkey Die Set.

And I can totally relate to this little dude!  After two days of prepping the Thanksgiving meal, cleaning the house, setting the table with all the favorite holiday touches, actually cooking the meal, and then finally sitting down and eating it – I’m SO DONE, haha….thank goodness for stretchy waist pants right? haha.

Anyway, I had an absolute hoot making this one.  Check it out below:

How to Create the Too Much Turkey Thanksgiving Card:

Create the Card Base:

Trim a panel of white cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stencil it with the Check Please Stencil and Latte Ink:

Adhere the panel to a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Waterfall cardstock, then attach it to a white, top-folding A2-sized card base.

Create the Oval:

Use the second-smallest of the Perfect Touch Arches and Tags set; cut two panels from Waterfall cardstock.

Trim approximately 1″ from the straight end of each arch, then overlap and adhere them together to create an oval.  Position the seam towards the bottom so it will be hidden behind the turkey.

Stamp the sentiment near the bottom of the oval, then add foam tape to the back.

Create the Turkey and Sunflowers:

Die-cut and assemble the adorable little turkey using scraps of Teal Topaz, waterfall, Saffron, Carrot, White, and Truffle cardstock.

Using the sunflowers from the Large Die of the Month kit, die-cut both flowers from white cardstock and ink-blend them to add color and dimension.

Ink Colors:  Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, Lemonade, Sunbeam, Honey, Sprout, Fairway, Field.

Splatter the Elements:

Place the card base, sunflowers, and turkey into your Splat box, then add black-and-white paint splatter for a fun, artsy finish.

Assemble the Card:

Adhere the turquoise oval to the center of the card front.

Arrange the sunflowers and greenery along the left side of the oval, using foam squares to add dimension.  Add the turkey towards the bottom center, positioning him over the seam where the two arches meet.

Finally, add three black gems for a bit of extra bling.
