Happy June! I always love the start of a new month because it means a brand-new release from Hero Arts.
The My Monthly Hero Kit this month is filled with playful summer icons, cheerful sentiments, and bright layering elements that are perfect for cards, tags, scrapbook pages, and more.
Then there’s the My Monthly Super Hero collection, which expands the creative possibilities even further with stylish dies and handwritten sentiments designed to coordinate beautifully with the core kit.
For today’s card, I combined a little of both collections. The Hello Sunshine Sentiment and drink glasses are from the My Monthly Super Hero release, while the layered stencil background is from the My Monthly Hero Kit.
There is an Inspiration IG HOP for the new MMH over on Instagram – you can start on my page here:
Let’s jump in, and I’ll show you how I created this bright and sun-filled summer card.

How to create the Cheers to Summer Die Cut Card:
Create the Card Base:
Trim a panel of white cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and ink blend it with Cotton Candy and Soft Cantaloupe Ink. Next, place the thinnest Reflection Layering Stencil over the panel and blend the same inks again to create a soft shimmering pool effect for the card front. Once the ink is dry, attach the panel to a white side-folding A2-sized card base measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score and fold at 4-1/4″.
Die cut the Art Elements:
Using the Sippin Summer Die Set, die cut the glasses from Seaside cardstock. Cut the inside drink pieces, top glass ovals, and ice cubes from white cardstock. Die cut the straw from Peridot, Orchid and Tutu cardstock, and the fruit wedges from Peridot/Rainforest, Blush/Tutu and Beeswax/Saffron.
Ink blend the oval top for the glass with Pool Party, then blend the drink portions with Cotton Candy, Soft Cantaloupe and Green Apple inks. Attach the blended pieces to the glasses, then add the straws, ice cubes, and fruit wedges to finish the drinks.
Use the Hello Sunshine die set to cut the sentiment from both black and white cardstock. Layer the black onto the white and use small pieces of foam tape to attach it to the top left side of the card front.

Assemble the Card:
Use small pieces of foam tape to add the three glasses in the bottom right corner of the card front. You could easily finish the design with gems, sequins, or white splatter, but I decided to keep the focus on the bright stenciled background and clean summer design.
