Crocus Die Cut Card Idea | Embossed Floral Background Card

Hi cardmaking friends!  Today I’m sharing a Crocus Die Cut Card Idea that’s perfect for spring, combining layered florals with beautiful texture for an elegant, eye-catching design.  The Fresh Crocus Dies take center stage inside a stitched oval frame, while the Flower Frame Embossing Folder adds a soft, dimensional floral background that really makes those purple blooms pop.  This card is a wonderful example of how a simple layout with rich texture and color can create a polished, professional finish with minimal effort.

Read on for the step-by-step instructions.

How to create the Crocus Die Cut Card:

Create the Card Base:

Start by cutting a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of Lavender cardstock and embossing it using the Flower Frame Embossing Folder.  Attach this panel to the front of an A2-sized white card base.

To enhance the texture on the embossing, lightly swipe a white pigment ink pad across the raised embossing, then set it aside to dry.

PRO-TIP:  Pigment Ink takes a long time to dry, so I like to heat set it to speed things up.

Die Cut the Oval Frame:

Use two of the Nested Stitched Ovals to create a frame, then adhere it to the center of the embossed Panel.

When assembling your Crocus Die Cut Card, leave a small unglued opening at the bottom right of the frame so you can tuck in the leaves and stems for a natural layered look.

Die Cut the Florals:

Use the Fresh Crocus Duo Die set to die cut three flowers and three sets of leaves from Lavender and Rainforest green cardstock.

Ink Blend the base of each flower with Amethyst ink to add shadow and depth, bringing more dimension to your Crocus Die Cut Card.  Assemble the blooms, then attach them using foam squares for the flower heads and liquid glue for the leaves.

Embellish the card:

Add three Clear Pawsitively Dazzling gems to the top left and bottom right corners of the embossed panel, just outside the oval frame.

Cut a sentiment from the Reverse Love EZ strips and add it to the bottom center inside the frame.
