Hero Arts May Release IG Hop

Hi cardmaking friends.  Today I’m with the Global Design Team on a Hero Arts May Release IG Hop.  If you are a member of Instagram you can join the hop starting on my page.  Don’t forget to leave a comment at each stop along the hop for a chance to win a Hero Arts Gift Card.

There are so many great new products in the May release, I couldn’t stop at just 1 card.  I have 3 cards to share with you today using a variety of products and skill level.

Sometimes I really like to make just a clean and simple card, other times, I can spend 3 hours making a card, are you like that too?

All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you and product disclosure is below.  As always, I appreciate your support of my Blog and YouTube Channel.

I’m going to start with the most advanced card and work my way backwards.  Probably, because I really like this Eggcellent  Card the most, haha.  You will note that all of my cards have teal in them.  Our entire house is white with teal and black accents, so that’s where my inspiration has come from.  I do need to find teal egg cups, that was wishful thinking, haha.

Hero Arts May Release IG Hop Card #1

To start, use the background stamp from the May My Monthy Hero and Taco Fold* to stamp it onto the front of the card base in VersaMark Ink.

*Taco Fold Stamp – fold your stamp back so it looks like a taco, so that you are only stamping a portion of the image onto your cardstock.

Cover the stamping with white heat embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.

Next, using a blending brush, add a small amount of Pool party ink.  Use a dry cloth and rub the surface to get any remaining ink off the embossing.

Finally, use a Misti to stamp the images in Intense black ink, color with copic markers, cut out and attach to the card front.

NOTE – I cut out the hen, I didn’t need her sitting on my breakfast table, haha.

Start by using a light brown ink to stamp the Kitchen Shelf Background stamp on the card front (I can’t wait to stamp and color this one, it’s so fun).  This creates a light “background noise” for the rest of the card elements.

Next, using Paradise, silver and woodgrain cardstock, cut out the utensils from the Kitchen Tools Fancy Dies Set.

NOTE:  For the wooden spoon and rolling pin, once cut out of wood grain card, I colored them with copic Markers E31, E35 and E57 to get that wood look – super easy to do.

Heat emboss a sentiment from the Treat Tags Stamp and Cut set onto the large Crock which was cut with the Kitchen Crocks Fancy Dies.

Finally, layer them all together and attach to the card front using glue dots and foam squares.

Card #3 – The Clean and Simple card.

This card started out being just a die cut card.    Use the large Bottle from Bottle & Cork Infinity Dies and the large crock from Kitchen Crocks Fancy Dies.

Next, I decided to add a gold embossed Olive branch image on black card for the card front.

Stamp the smaller olive branch stamp into black card and color with copic markers.

Cut out the branches and adhere them to the front of the bottle and Crock die cuts.

Next, do a little ink blending down the left side of the images to add some depth (hard to see in my picture)

Finally, attach the bottle and Crock to the card front with glue dots and foam squares.

Get the details on coloring the Olive branch Stamp on this card I shared last week.

  2. I love all three of them Sandi and I like to see a common thread of colour running through a post and teal is always beautiful. Your designs are fabulous and your fussy cutting amazing!
