Hey cardmaking friends! Today, I’m sharing a pair of extra-festive JOY cards created with some of my favorite Simon Says Stamp products from the recent And Everything Nice release. If you’ve been here for a while, you already know this about me…..I LOVE snowmen. They are hands-down my favorite part of the winter cardmaking season, and I’ll happily spend hours coloring their sweet little faces, scarves, and accessories. So of course, the adorable Cozy in the Cold Snowman had to make an appearance – twice!
Each card starts with the bold Joy Cover Die, layered over smooth ombre cardstock panels – one in frosty aquas and the other in soft magical purples. Then comes the star of the show: that cheerful, copic-colored snowman, bundled in a bright scarf, holding a sprig of holly, and chatting with a tiny red bird. These little guys do take some time to color, so these aren’t mass-production cards – but they’re perfect when you want something extra special in the mailbox!.
If you love playful winter scenes, dimensional die-cutting, and all things snowman-themed, these cards might just spark your next wave of holiday inspiration. Let’s dive in!

How to create the Joyful Snowmen Cards with Simon Says Stamp:
I had so much fun creating this card that I ended up making two – One in teal and one in purple. Other than the color palette, the steps are exactly the same for both cards.
1 – Create the card base:
Start by cutting a top-folding A2 sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11″ score and fold at 5-1/2″).
Next, cut wo additional white panels 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Die-cut the “JOY” outline from one of the panels, then adhere that outline panel to the center of the second piece. This forms your card front and creates the spaces for the ombre inlay pieces.
Using three shades of teal cardstock, die cut the background sections and inlay them into the open spaces of the JOY panel, securing them with liquid glue.

2 – Stamp, Color and Cut Out the Snowman:
Stamp the snowman image in Memento Black Ink and color him using the Copic markers shown.
PRO-TIP:
When shading the snowman with light grays, I add all four layers of color first, then go over it with the 0 Colorless blender in small circular motions. This softens the transitions and gives the snow a beautiful, almost “molten” glow.

Once the coloring is complete, cut out the snowman with the coordinating die and add foam squares to the back for dimension.

3 – Add the Embellishments:
Die cut three snowflakes from white cardstock using the Harmony Snowflakes set.
Adhere them to the card front with liquid glue, tucking the largest snowflake behind the area where the snowman will sit. Add a Prism Pawsitively Dazzling Gem to the center of each snowflake, and to the tips of the larger one for extra sparkle.
Finally – finish the scene with a touch of Crystal Stickles along the snow beneath the snowman for a frosty, glittery shine.
