HI cardmaking friends. I have something a little different and fun for you today, Lavinia Stamps Seren. I am a HUGE fan of Lavinia Stamps and recently received some in my Simon Says Stamp order. With tons of design team deadlines, they have been sitting on the shelf, so yesterday I carved out a little time to play with them, and I mean a LITTLE time. Like 5 minutes each.
Lavinia Stamps:
A bit about Lavinia Stamps. They are a mostly silhouette stamps and famous for their fairies. Lately they have added a beautiful selection of other critters and background creating stamps, like the curly Whimsical Whisps bushes in my two cards today. The main company is in the UK, I buy my stamps through Simon Says Stamp and Joggles.
Normally I would do a big long video on how to create the backgrounds for my cards, and I have a couple links below for you. But today, I want to introduce you to Scene Scapes.
Lavinia Scene Scapes:
Lavinia Scene Scapes are preprinted backgrounds. They come in a variety of sizes and colors to help you create beautiful cards in just minutes. Today’s cards are 5 x 7 finished size, they also have the standard A2 size, and a small slimline as well. Simon Says Stamp has a selection and Joggles does as well. They are economical and created from smooth sturdy cardstock. All you have to do is attach them to a card base.
How to use the Lavinia Scene Scapes:
Place the Scene Scapes into your Misti Stamping Platform. Lay your Lavinia Seren Stamp in place and stamp with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink (deep rick black).
Next, stamp the sentiment in the same ink.
Use the Lavinia Whimsical Whisps stamp and VersaFine Clair Monarch ink to add some shrubbery around your main image.
Finally, tear a piece of printer paper to use as a ground, and use the black ink to sponge it in.
The Scene Scapes print I used already had the moon and the tree printed on it, but Lavinia also has a great selection of Tree Stamps too. You can see how this only took me 5 minutes to create these beautiful cards with these amazing Scene Scapes images.
Lavinia Stamps Seren:
Lavinia Stamps Seren is one of the newer fairies in the collection and she is truly stunning. The stamps are well constructed and when using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink (black), I only had to stamp her once to get a strong solid image.
The sentiment is also from Lavinia and was added next.
Finally, I stamped the Whimsical Whisps a few times in VersaFine Clair Monarch
That’s it, card done!
Lavinia Gideon and Rufus Stamps
Stamp the two little foxes Gideon and Rufus facing the moon.
Next, stamp the Believe sentiment also from Lavinia
Finally, add the Whimsical Whisps also in the purple ink.
Then, sponge in the base of the mountain they are sitting on. Super easy and so professional looking.
In closing:
As you can clearly see, these beautiful Scene Scapes are the perfect backdrop to the amazing Lavinia stamps. They eliminate the need to spend time creating background for days when you just don’t have the time. They also create flat cards so no additional postage required.
One more thing – they have a set of Lavinia Dream Scape Papers that come in a book of 30 doubled sided, 8 x 8 inch paper cards in 10 unique designs – just in case you Want it All, haha, I know I sure do.
And, if you would rather create your own backgrounds. I have a couple of videos for you.
This one uses the Oracle Stamp (my other favorite Fairy), and I walk you through complete the entire background for this one in this blog post using Distress Oxide Sprays.
and this one using Distress Oxide Inks and Lainia Fairytails and Dandelions Lavinina Stamps can be found in this blog Post:
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and a quick and very easy idea for cardmaking .
