The layering stencils do all the work for you, adding depth, shading, and dimension quickly for professional-looking results. Paired with the coordinating die, cutting out these tall cosmos blooms is fast and precise–perfect for creating a slimline card design that really lets the flowers shine.
It’s been a while since I made a slimline card, and with those gorgeous, tall florals, this felt like the perfect project to revisit this card size!

How to create the Mixed Media Slimline Card | Altenew Sulfur Cosmos Card:
I’m won’t go into too much detail here since everything is covered step-by-step in today’s cardmaking video, but here are the basics to get your started.
Cardstock Cuts:
Slimline Card Base – white Hammermill cardstock 7-1/2″ x 8-1/2, score at 3-3/4″
Card front Panel: White Hammermill cardstock 3-1/4″ x 8″
Art Panel: White Hammermill Cardstock 5″ x 7″
Sentiment: scrap pieces of White Hammermill cardstock.
In today’s cardmaking video, I walk you through how to create this mixed media slimline card using the Altenew Sulfur Cosmos Build-A-Garden bundle. You’ll see how I combined layered stenciling, white relief paste, ink splatter, and distressed edges to add texture and dimension to the background, along with tips for ink blending and assembling these beautiful tall florals.
