More Cosmos Bloom

Hey there, happy weekend to you.  As promised here is More Cosmos Bloom.  The second card I created with this amazing background stamp from Simon Says Stamp is colored with Copics.  If you LOVE to color – (I find it SO relaxing), you are going to LOVE this stamp

Fall has crept into the air around here and my sunflowers are just thriving, one is over 8 feet tall!  They inspired my color palette for today.  Their beautiful sunny faces back-dropped by an amazing turquoise sky.

How to create the More Cosmos Bloom Card:

For the sentiment, I once again used the Greetings Mix 1 stamp set, this time white embossing it on a strip of vellum so I didn’t completely cover all that beautiful coloring, haha.

I used the flicking technique for the coloring and I shared a video on that here:

  • Colors for the Flowers:  Copics:  Y13, Y15, Y19, YR18, E77
  • Leaves:  G21, YG63, G94
  • Background:  BG05
  • Flower Centers – Nuvo Crystal Drops – Dirty Bronze

Artist Tip:  I colored the flower centers with Y13 before adding the Nuvo Crystal Drops, it helped to really make them pop.

TIP #2 – Most adhesive show through vellum.  I like to attach it strategically with glue dots and then add embellishments on the top side to cover. Here I used Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers Sequins.

Simon Says Stamp Cosmos Bloom Gold inside of card
Card Construction:

Cosmo Bloom is a 6 x 6 red rubber stamp and it has about a 1/4″ void around the edge.

Cut a 6 x 6 piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and stamp the image using the Misti just in case you have to stamp it a couple of times.

Next, color it and cut it down to what you need for the front of the card.

Hating to throw out any of these bits of coloring love, I often slice up the pieces and use them on the inside of my card.

Don’t you just love all matchy matchy, haha, I sure do.
