More Yana’s Daisies from Spellbinders

Hey, card-makers, welcome back.  Today I’m playing with More Yana’s Daisies from Spellbinders.  This time it’s the Yana’s Daisies Etched Dies.  What a beautiful bouquet this die set makes.  I decided to do some quick and easy Copic Coloring on the flowers and then do an overlay of the outline in gold.  To help make it pop right off the card, I ink blended the background with three colors of Distress Oxide Inks and added a pile of black and white splatter.  I LOVE the drama in this card

How to create More Yana’s Daisies from Spellbinders Card:

Start by die cutting the daisies from Hammermill white cardstock.  Only run it through the machine once with no shims so that the pieces don’t all pop out.

PRO-TIP – I add scotch tape to the back of this so I don’t punch out the petals while I color.

Color the flowers with the Copic markers.

Adding the Overlay:

Using a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of gold cardstock, and using shims this time, die cut the flowers again.  This time cutting through and popping out all the petals etc.

Next, use the fine tip Bearly art glue to attach the gold overlay over the colored art piece.

More Yana’s Daisies from Spellbinders – create the background.

Start with a piece of Hammermill cardstock 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.  Ink blend the three Distress Oxide Ink pinks from top to bottom.

Next, once the ink is dry, place it into a splat box, with the art piece beside it and splatter with white and black ink/paint.

Then, again, once dry, layer to the A2 sized top folding white card base with mats:

  • Card base:  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
  • Black card front:  4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • White Mat:  4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Ink blended card front 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″

Finally, attach the art piece using foam squares.  Then, Gold Glimmer Foil a sentiment using the Crafty Hugs Sentiments on black cardstock.  Add to the card in the bottom right corner.
