New Cardmaking Video: Spellbinders Small Die of the Month July 2025 | Plus Caboodle Bonus Project

Hey cardmaking friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed celebrating the 4th with family and friends. We sure did, and I took a couple of well-deserved days off—much needed, LOL! Now I’m back with a brand-new cardmaking video featuring the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for July 2025. I’m also showcasing the July Deluxe Caboodle Free Gift, the Ginger Sip Die Set, which includes an extra die so you can create an adorable cocoa mug too!

The video walks you through all the steps creating the art pieces and then the final cards so I won’t be doing a step by step today.  I’m just going to provide a bit of info about each card.

Handmade Christmas card featuring a cute reindeer-shaped cocoa mug die cut with whipped cream, candy cane, and a turquoise striped scarf on an embossed snowflake background. Sentiment reads “a cup of cheer just for you.” Created with Spellbinders Small Die of the Month by Sandi MacIver.

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month July 2025 – Reindeer.

He’s my favorite—so sweet and festive, LOL!

Cardstock used: Cranberry, Truffle, Fawn, Teal Topaz, Waterfall, white, and AB Glimmer paper.

Pro Tip: Lightly spritz the Waterfall card front with water before embossing. This simple step gives you a much deeper, crisper embossed impression.

As I mention in the video, I’m absolutely in love with the 3D Stary Snowflake Embossing Folder. The dotted circles around the snowflakes add so much texture and charm. Adding a darker die-cut circle behind the reindeer helps frame and highlight the focal point while continuing the circle theme throughout the design.

Christmas card featuring a Santa-shaped cocoa mug die cut with a red glitter hat, white beard, and candy cane handle on an embossed and ombre blue background. Embellished with a snowflake and sentiment reading “wishing you winter magic in every sip.” Created with Spellbinders Small Die of the Month by Sandi MacIver.

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month July 2025 – Santa

Spellbinders has truly done it again—these dies are packed with amazing detail that brings every image to life.

I decided to give him a fun twist with a red hat, even though it’s technically supposed to be whipped cream—LOL!

To highlight the beautiful texture from the Frosted Stitch Embossing Folder, I added a touch of ombre ink blending to the card front. It really makes those embossed details pop!

Handmade winter card featuring an adorable penguin-shaped cocoa mug die cut with whipped cream, candy cane, red hearts, and a turquoise striped scarf. The design sits on a bold red card front accented with white die-cut snowflakes and the sentiment “Winter Cheers.” Created with Spellbinders Small Die of the Month by Sandi MacIver.

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month July 2025 – Penguin

This little guy is just too adorable with his two-tone scarf and whipped cream top!

I like to keep my Christmas cards simple, especially when I’m making them in sets of five or ten. I also try to avoid extra postage costs, so I keep the layers to a minimum. This card is a single layer with no embossing—instead, I added a couple of die-cut snowflakes to enhance that frosty, winter feel.

Handmade Christmas card featuring an adorable gingerbread man-shaped cocoa mug die cut with a red and white striped scarf, whipped cream, candy cane, and smiling face. The card has a light blue background decorated with white die-cut snowflakes and a stamped sentiment that reads “a cup of cheer just for you.” Created with Spellbinders Small Die of the Month by Sandi MacIver.

This is one of my favorites of the Caboodle gifts for sure.  He can be a gift tag (as I show you in the video), or he adapts to the cocoa mug with the Small Die of the Month Club kit.

Your cards put me in the festive spirit! Also thank you so much for listing the items including the color cardstock you used as I sometimes you fall in love with a color used. If you ever want to part with your gingy mug die set please let me know as I wish i could afford to purchase the caboodle set to get it.

    1. thank you Kathy, it’s such a fun die set and makes it really easy to create fun holiday cards. No plans on parting with this die set any time soon.
