I ordered this Hello Toucan stamp and die set along with the Jungle Frame die a couple of months ago from Hero Arts.  LOVE these toucans, and I’m kind of fond of the Rain Forest too, so what a great way to combine them.  I cut the Jungle Frame out of watercolor paper and used the Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors and the SMOOSHING technique to blend those beautiful colors together.

Behind that I added a second card layer and I blended some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to create the perfect backdrop for my images.

Finally I stamped my toucans and flowers onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and used my Copic markers to color them.  I cut the birds out with the coordinating dies, and fussy cut the flowers as I didn’t want the white edge around my flowers.

For the final embellishments, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops (not show on the video as I decided on this afterwards)…Apple Green for the flower centers, and Pink Orchid around the Jungle portion of the card.

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO, for how I set up black heat embossing the sentiment in the perfect spot – MISTI to the rescue (again).

  1. Your blended background matched the ink smooshed jungle die SO WELL! I really enjoyed watching you make this card! Thank you. Ps. The white space you left on the birds was very clever.
