Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back. Hope you had a great weekend. We had a beautiful sunny day on Saturday and spent it outside cleaning up the yard. Sunday it snowed, so I finished up painting one of the bedrooms….baby steps on this house reno, but moving forward none the less. I have a new card to share with you today, Picket Fence Studios Butterfly card.
In my last post I said I was sharing another card created with the Beautiful girls Flower Wreath stamp set and this is it.
I know, very different from my last wreath card right? But it’s still the same stamp set.
You see, that butterfly in the center is a separate stamp.
Building Process for the Picket Fence Studios Beautiful Girls Butterfly Card:
I used my Misti and randomly stamped all over the card front with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and them clear embossed it before painting it with Gansai Tambi watercolors.
Colors used, 54, 57, 139 and 64.
Water down the same colors and use them to color in the background too.
The Finishing Touches:
For the sentiment piece, use one of the circle dies from the Slim Line Scallop Framed Dies set. At the same time, die cut the word Hello from a scrap of colored card stock.
Use Simon Says Stamp Fog ink to stamp the butterfly randomly over the white circle before attaching the hello
Stamp and paint one extra butterfly and fussy cut it out.
Mat the art piece with black before attaching to a white top folding A2 card base.
Finally attach the sentiment piece and butterfly with foam squares to pop them up a bit.
Embellishments:
Using a white gel pen to add dots over the butterfly really makes them pop. You could also use the Picket Fence Studios new Reflections Gem Mix, but I think the white pops more.
