and today’s collab is: – Simon Says Stamp and Penny Black | Bright and Merry. This lovely stamp set has two large images, the birds below, a beautiful Christmas tree, and an array of sentiments. I added some simple layering to the background but kept it clean and simple.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp and Penny Black | Bright and Merry Card

Start with a white, top-folding A2 card base measuring: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″.

Next, cut a second piece of white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and emboss it with the Fun Floral Frame Embossing Folder. Adhere this embossed panel tot he card base.

Then, die cut a panel using the fourth-largest A2 Scalloped Rectangle dies. Lightly ink blend Latte Ink around the edges to create a soft, warm frame.

PRO-TIP – I couldn’t decide if I liked this panel better in brown or left white – try both and see which you prefer!

Place the scalloped panel into a Misti and very lightly stamp only the branch portion of the stamp across the bottom using Latte Ink.

Finally, die cut two frames with the Modern Teardrops Dies, using the fourth and fifth largest. Layer and glue them together for added dimension, then set aside until assembly.

Creating the art piece:

Start by stamping the focal image into white cardstock using Memento Ink. Color with Copic markers in the following blends:

Greens: G21, G24, G94
Reds: R20, R35, R46 and
Browns: E21, E23, E24, and E29.

Next, once colored, carefully fussy cut the image and set it aside. (There is a die set – I just didn’t receive it).

For the sentiment, place the card base back into the Misti. Position the Modern Teardrop Frame (without adhering it) along with the colored image. Adjust both pieces until you can fit the small sentiment stamp in just the right spot. Leave the stamp in place, close the lid to secure it, then remove the image and frame before stamping the sentiment in black ink. Finally, adhere the Modern Teardrop frame around the sentiment. Use foam squares to attach the colored image for added dimension and life.

TO finish, embellish the tree branch portion with a few small red gems from the Warm Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems Collection, for a festive touch of sparkle.
