Hi stamping friends and welcome back. Today I have three cards to share with you created with the Simon Says Stamp Floral Mom Frame that recently came out in the Blossoms and Butterflies series.
I totally love this die, it makes card making a breeze, just watercolor a background (on the left), or sponge one (on the right), die cut the frame, attach them both to a card base and add a sentiment. These sentiments were even easier, they are part of the new Simon Says Stamp – Sentiment Strips #2 – already printed on thick card stock, you just cut them apart (link below). It doesn’t get much easier than that.

….so – maybe you don’t want to send your MOM a card!
No problem, once you have cut out the panel, just a few extra snips and you can make a card for anyone!
with a beautiful die cut floral border around it. (and thanks to Jennifer McGuire for this great idea).
For this card, I did snip out the center and then used the Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks dies to create my sentiment and the strip underneath was stamped with the Big Thanks Words Stamp Set.
BUT, let’s talk about the background for a sec….have a little look.
I blended some distress ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon. Then I took the Pretty Peonies Background Stamp, inked it in Mermaid Lagoon and stamped it over the blended background. LOVE IT…..I call it “background noise”, a little something going on back there, but it doesn’t take over the card.
The Pretty Peonies Background Stamp is Also from Simon Says Stamp and was part of their March Release, I did another card and video with it here.
Click the button above to download the FREE PDF file for the second card – and don’t forget to check out my FREE PDF GALLERY for 60+ more card ideas.
Back to the first set of cards for a minute. The one on the left has this water colored background. Ranger Watercolor Paper 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, water colored with the Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set. The card on the right is sponged with Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks. Super simple, but so very pretty don’t you think.
SO – if you DO want to send your MOM a card – order this die soon and get your card made because Mother’s day is May 12 this year….and then you can change the background out and make her another one for her birthday!….
