Simon Says Stamp Make My Heart Flutter | Tone on Tone Card

Hey cardmaking friends – welcome to a brand new week!

Today, I have a Simon Says Stamp Make My Heart Flutter | Tone-on-Tone Card to share with you.  This stamp set features the most beautiful large floral image, and normally I would dive right in and color the heck out of it….but I’m a little behind on design team projects (you know how that goes – life gets busy!).

So instead, I decided to keep things simple and elegant by gold heat embossing the image and creating a soft tone-on-tone design.  Quick, beautiful, and of course….with a few extra details because I can’t help myself.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Make My Heart Flutter | Ton-on-Tone Card:

Start with a white, top-folding A2 card base.

Next, cut a panel of Lavender cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″,  emboss it with the Wirework Hearts Embossing Folder and adhere it to the card front.

PRO-TIP:  Embossing can slightly shrink your panel.  After adhering it to the card base, trim the edges if needed so no white shows.

Next, cut a strip if Mirror Gold cardstock to 1″ x 4-1/4″ and adhere it approximately one inch up from the bottom of the card.

On a separate quarter sheet of Lavender cardstock, gold heat emboss the floral image and sentiment.  Die cut both with the coordinating dies, then use foam squares to attach them to the card front for added dimension.

Finish with a sprinkle of Stay Gold Sequins for a touch of elegant sparkle.

Adding an embossed tone-on-tone background adds beautiful texture and visual interest without a lot of extra work.  The gold accents instantly elevate the design and give it a touch of timeless elegance.  This versatile card would be perfect for a wedding, anniversary, or even a special birthday celebration.
