Hi crafty friends – welcome back!
Are you like me when your My Monthly Hero kit arrives, and you have no idea which product to use first? I always struggle to choose–everything is so inspiring, haha!
You already saw my first choice, which I posted here last week. So today I’m sharing my second choice, the Birthday Icons Stamp & Cut. Why this one? I love all the small images – they’re quick and easy to color with my Copic Markers. Plus, the set includes sentiments and dies, so you can create a complete card with just one set.
It’s bright, cheerful, perfect for building up your birthday card stash, and versatile enough for anyone.
So, let’s jump in — I’ll show you exactly how I made it.

Hero Arts, My Monthly Hero May 2026:

How to Create This Simple Die Cut Birthday Card Idea:
Create the Card Base:
Trim a panel of Waterfall cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and adhere it to a side-folding A2 sized white card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″).
Create the Art Pieces:
Stamp the birthday images onto Hammermill white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Color the images with Copic Markers, and then die cut them using the coordinating dies.
Stamp the sentiment in the same ink onto a small piece of Dahlia cardstock and die cut.

Assemble the Card:
Adhere the sentiment to the center of the card using foam squares. Arrange the birthday icons around the sentiment, then attach them with foam squares for added dimension.
