Hi cardmaking friends, and welcome back! Today I’m sharing a Spellbinders Colorful Stitched Pumpkins Card created with the September Stitching Die Club of the month. This kit was so much fun to work with! I started by ink blending the pumpkins before stitching them with the elegant DMC gold thread. Then, I “planted” them on a vibrant ink-blended background that I embossed for extra texture and dimension. I think you’re going to love creating with this month’s Stitched Club – it’s full of possibilities!

- Spellbinders Autumn Breeze Embossing Folder Club
- DMC Gold Thread
- Blending Brushes
- Gold Rub

How to create the Spellbinders Colorful Stitched Pumpkins Card:
Start by die-cutting the pumpkins from Tutu, Beeswax, lavender and Peridot card stock. I also cut an extra pink one, just in case, so I could decide which worked best after the ink blending.

Next, ink blend the pumpkins with the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sherbet, Violet and Field. To add shadow and depth, blend Cappuccino ink over one side of each pumpkin.
Then, once the ink is dry, stitch each pumpkin with the DMC Gold Thread. Die-cut an outline for each pumpkin from matching cardstock and adhere it to the back. This not only gives a clean finish, but also secures the thread ends so they don’t come loose.
Finally, die cut the additional leaves, stems and sentiments from the leftover pumpkin scraps. Ink blend them in coordinating colors and set them aside while you prepare the background.

Create the Background:
Start with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ink blend it with Guava, Pearfection and Field ink. Once blended, emboss the panel with the Autumn Breeze Embossing Folder.
Next, use a gold finger rub to lightly highlight the embossed design with gold ink. For a softer effect, gently buff it back with a dry cloth.
Then, adhere the finished panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
Arrange and attach the pumpkins and leaves. For the sentiment, die cut “hello” three times from gold cardstock, stack the layers for dimension, and place it in the top left corner of the card. Add the coordinating die-cut sentiment just beneath it to complete the design.
