Spellbinders Jump for Joy Handmade Card

Hi cardmaking friends, I have something cute and fun to share today—Spellbinders Jump for Joy Handmade Card.  I love this little froggy and his toadstool, pretty flowers, and stamped background.  The dies are super detailed and easy to cut and layer, and the stamp set has many sentiments covering a wide selection of events.  Also in the die set is the die that created the fancy top on my card, and I had no problem die-cutting the top of my A2-sized folded card.  This beautiful scallop adds so much pizzazz to this card, without a pile of work.

How to create the Spellbinders Jump for Joy Handmade Card:

Start with a side-folding white A2 card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Tape the large scallop die across the top and run it through the Platinum 6 die-cutting machine.

Repeat the above step with the waterfall-colored card front cut at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and then attached to the card front.

Then, using a Misti and the cattails stamp, stamp the tone-on-tone background using Simon Says Stamp Seafoam blue ink.

Adding the Die Cuts to the Spellbinders Jump For Joy Handmade Card.

Start by die-cutting the frog from medium green cardstock. Cut his tummy from light green. Use a tiny blending brush and Rustic Wilderness Distress oxide ink to add shadow and highlights before gluing the pieces together. Then, use a white #10 gel pen to add highlights.

Next, die-cut the toadstool in red and white. Ink blend a little bit of Distress Oxide ink Broken China for some shadow before gluing together.

Then, die-cut the flowers and glue all the layers together.

Finally, use small pieces of foam squares to attach the die cuts to the card base.  This adds a bit of dimension and shadow, giving your card more interest.

Place the card into the Misti and position the sentiment stamps at the top.  Stamp them in black ink.
