Tonic Studios Dainty Daisies and Aqua Flow Pens

Hi there and welcome back. Today I’m sharing more cards created with the Tonic Studios Dainty Daisies and Aqua Flow Pens as I’m the guest designer over at Tonic Studio’s blog today.

In particular I’m sharing how I created these beautiful watercolor backgrounds and all the embellishments for three cards only using four of the Aqua Flow Pens. You know me, I like everything to match!.

I used the “Emboss Resist” technique, wherein I white heat embossed background images before I started water coloring. The embossed portion will “resist” the ink allowing the white image to pop out. It’s one of my favourite techniques.

Card #1

For the first card I pretty much used the Ink Smooshing technique (video below showing all three cards). Then I created these exquisite overlays of daisies and leaves white heat embossed on Vellum. I went with a bold single layer sentiment and added a sprinkling of embellishments with the Dragon Scales Dream Drops.

Card #2

Is bold and beautiful and perhaps a little masculine? By repeatedly stamping and embossing the leaf I created this eye catching wallpaper with a very faint watercolor background behind. The Will’s Hand double cut “Enjoy” sentiment is super easy to cut and layer and the black belly band really makes it pop.

Card #3

Finally, I had to use this adorable little flower cluster from the Magnificent Magnolia stamp set to create this wallpaper background. After creating the background I went in and coloured each flower and leaf with the Aqua Flow Pens.

What I love about these pens: no mess: The ink/water/brush are all in one unit. Easy to take with you for crafting on the go, and a lovely selection of colours.
