Be Beautiful Polaroid Card

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  It took me two days to make today’s Be Beautiful Polaroid Card,, haha.  One handed stamping is a little difficult and I can’t die cut right now, so I had to wait for Ian to come home from work and do that for me.

I had a lot of fun making this little card.  She’s a red head because I used to be, haha, and as a gardener I LOVE bees.  It was also fun to dive back into Multi Media cards which I have loved for ages, but don’t always have time to make.  Give these little Polaroid cards a try, mini pieces of art are so much fun to create.

This is my first official post for the AALL & CREATE Design team.  I missed my first one because of my surgery, and they were very kind and supportive about that – such wonderful people over there.  It was hard to decide were to start with all their beautiful products.  My final decision was this adorable Be Beautiful stamp set designed by Janet Klein.  It was easy to color, it’s adorable and I wanted to try making a polaroid card for the #polaroidpopschallenge  over on the AALL & CREATE FACEBOOK GROUP – details on the polaroid cards below.

Steps to create the Be Beautiful Polaroid Card:

Use the Misti to stamp the images onto Hammermill white cardstock.

Color with Copic Markers (listed in the pdf below) – Fussy cut out the images and sentiments.

Cut card card front 3.1″ squares and die cut the Cells die from White Hammermill card stock as well.

Creating the background for the Be Beautiful Polaroid Card:

Cut the numbers portion away from the die cut so you have the bottom section of honeycomb.

Use this to blend Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks through onto the background

Next, using blending brushes, add Tumbled Glass and more Squeezed Lemonade to the background.

Blend the edges with Mermaid Lagoon.

Using the Intersecting Circles stamp – stamp over the blue background on the right with Tumbled Glass ink.

Blend the Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon ink over the die cut piece, glue it over the left side of the card front, trimming off any overhang

Card Base and Sentiment:

To create the card base, cut a piece of Hammermill White 7 x 4.2 inches.  Score at 3.5 to create the Polaroid Card Base.

Attach the card front to the top portion of the card.

Add a small piece of the Flower Dancing Washi tape under it on the right

Next, Use foam squares to attach all the little art pieces to the card front.

Finally, use a #10 Gelly Roll pen by Sakura to add highlights.

HOW TO CREATE A POLAROID CARD:

Here are the dimensions for the Polaroid Card, and as stated above, to make it into a card, I cut the card base at 7 x 4.2, scored and folded at 3.5 (inches)

I would also like to point out how much I love these AALL & CREATE products.  The stamps are exceptional, the stencils are nice thick plastic, and the dies…oh my goodness.  They cut like butter.

Cell Die from AALL & Create for card making and paper crafting

This is the CELL Die I used on todays card, and I only used the small honey comb bit under the numbers.  it also cuts out the numbers, so I saved all of that for another card.
