How to create the Stitched Die Cuts on Cards Flowers: Card #1

Start by die cutting the flower pieces from the colored cardstock.

Next, using Distress Oxide Inks in Evergreen Bough and Wilted Violet, use a blending brush to add edge detail to the pieces.

Then, using the gold DMC metallic thread, stitch the pieces.

Finally, glue them together.

  1. What a great video, Sandi. Love your color contrasts and the idea of adding shading to the cut art pieces. This die set make a gorgeous card.

  2. Love the flowers and the cards. Enjoyed the video. Love the purples you used with the gold! Metallic thread is really tricky to stitch with isn’t it! I have not tried the stitched dies, but am a cross stitcher and used to use metallic thread for beaded cross stitched ornaments.

    1. Thank you Linda. I agree, the metallic thread is hard to stitch with. I used to x stitch as well and this stuff from Spellbinders doesn’t seem to unravel or tangle as bad as the old stuff, haha, thank goodness.
