Be My Galentine Handmade Card

Hi cardmaking friends. I’m back with another card created using brand-new products from the Simon Says Stamp Heart to Heart Release that went live last week.  This time I’m combining four of those new goodies to create a sweet Be My Galentine handmade card – and I may have gotten just a tiny bit carried away, LOL.

I started by creating a custom background with Distress Oxide Sprays, then layered on gorgeous gold heat-embossing using the heart-shaped Words of Love stamp. From there, I Copic-colored the Loving You Bouquet image and finished it off with a blingy, gold-foiled sentiment. And of course… plenty of gold splatter, because everything is better with a little sparkle.

Let’s dive in and I’ll walk you through exactly how this card came together!

Products used for the Be My Galentine Handmade Card:

• Simon Says Stamp Loving You Bouquet
  Simon Says Stamp Words of Love stamp
• Galentine Die
• Reverse Love EZ Strips

How to create the Be My Galentine Handmade Card.

Card size:  A7 – (5″ x 7″)

1 – Create the Floral Image

Stamp the Loving You Bouquet in Memento Ink onto Hammermill cardstock.

Color with Copics:    Purples:  V12, V15, V17, Teal:  BG11, BG13, BG49 Gray:  N0, N1, N2 and Yellow:  Y15, Y17, Y19.  Shadows E44, Springs YG67

Die-cut with the coordinating die and set aside.

2 – Create the background

Spritz both sides of a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ watercolor panel with water.

Spray Distress Oxide Sprays: Kitsch Flamingo, Wilted Violet and Bundled Sage (pink and violet in the center, green around the edges).

Heat-dry, then stamp Words of Love with VersaMark and heat-emboss in gold.

Mount the panel onto a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ gold foil mat and attach to a Lavender card base.  (7″ x 10″, score and fold at 5″.

3 – Create the Sentiment

Die-cut Galentine three times from gold foil and stack.

Cut the shadow from vellum and attach the gold layers on top.

Trim “here’s a paper hug for you” from the Reverse Love EZ  Strips and ink the edges black.

4 – Assemble

Foam-mount the bouquet on the left.

Add liquid glue being the GAL and use foam behind the rest of the sentiment so it sits level over the flowers.

PRO-TIP – Only add adhesive behind the letters on vellum).

Add the black strip sentiment with foam tape.

Finish with gold splatter and Pawsitively Dazzling Gems in gold.
