Mama Elephant Wild Meadow

Hi card making friends, welcome back.  Today I’m sharing this beautiful watercolor border card created with the Mama Elephant – Wild Meadow stamp and die set.  I ordered this little lovely from Simon Says Stamp and I just could not wait to colour it.

There are two border stamps in the set, so today, it’s these beautiful leaves.  My goodness, as a gardener and a lover of any flower stamp sets, this really spoke to me.  Mostly because I could watercolor it as I have today with my Zig Markers.

But, also because there are many other ways to use this stamp set, black and white stamping, colored pencils, brusho, heat embossing, etc.

This is a 5 x 7 finished card but you could also create a A2 sized card and have the design run long ways down each side.

I did a quick video for you to show you a couple of ways I like to blend with my Zig Markers.  These are watercolor pens and they are so easy to create with, they will make you look like a pro!

HOW TO CREATE THE MAMA ELEPHANT WILD MEADOW CARD:

Today’s project is created on watercolor paper and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I did an overlay over another piece of Watercolor paper to ensure the colors where exactly the same.

Mount it to a slightly larger Black Mat to frame the art piece and really make the colours pop.

Finally, add it to a card base of Simon Says Stamp Dessert Storm

ADDING THE SENTIMENT:

Create the Sentiment with the Hero Arts – Stamp and Cut Hello Set.

You get a larger die for the main word, and then a bunch of smaller sentiments that coordinate which enables you to create cards for many occasions.

I have a friend currently going through some “stuff”, so I’m hoping this brightens her day as much as her friendship brightens mine.

This set actually has two border stamps in it, you can see the second one, just peeking out from behind my card – it’s a floral one, I’m thinking would be FABULOUS for Mother’s Day.

  1. Hi Sandi, thank you so much for this tutorial video. I have been so intimidated by my Zig markers!! Your video was very helpful.

    1. aw, you are so welcome Maggie. Don’t be intimidated, there are lots of super easy techniques you can accomplish with them, just grab a piece of watercolor paper and play with them to get the feel of how they work, that’s all I did
