Hi card-making friends, and welcome back to my blog!  Today I’m sharing a vibrant Mixed-Media Thank You Card with Simon Says Stamp Tattered Daisy die set. For this project, I aimed for a Tim Holtz-inspired grunge aesthetic—but with a colorful twist. I layered texture and interest using over-stamping, 3D embossing, and die cuts to bring this handmade thank you card to life. Let’s dive into the details of how this dimensional, textured card came together!

How to create the Mixed Media Thank You Card with Simon Says Stamp Tattered Daisy :

Start with a side folding A2-sized white card base:  5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″.

Next, attach a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ black card front.

Then, cut a piece of Audrey Blue cardstock down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and emboss it with the Floral Bunches 3D embossing folder before attaching it to the card base.

Adding the Art Pieces and  Sentiment:

Start by placing a piece of white cardstock (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) into the Misti and stamping it with the Simon Says Stamp Thank You Text background stamp for added texture and visual interest.  Once the ink is dry, die cut the flower layers using the Tattered Daisy Die Set.

Next, to add depth and a touch of mixed media grunge, lightly ink blend Distress Oxide Ink in Vintage Photo near the center of each flower, and Black Soot along the petal edges.  Layer the flower pieces together and finish with a black die-cut center.

Then, die cut the stems from black cardstock and adhere them directly to your embossed background. Use foam squares to attach the layered flowers, giving your handmade floral card added dimension.

Finally, for the sentiment, white heat emboss a greeting from the Vintage Blooms Stamp Set onto a scrap of black cardstock. Die cut the sentiment then soften the brightness by gently brushing over it with your Vintage Photo Blending Brush (no extra ink needed).  Mount the sentiment with foam squares for a raised effect.

And that’s it!  A simple yet elegant thank you card design, full of texture, dimension and just the right touch of grungy charm – perfect for mixed media cardmaking fans.
