Patriotic Die Cut Card | Spellbinders Red, White and Bloom - Sandi MacIver

Howdy cardmaking friends! – Today I’m sharing a patriotic die-cut card, showcasing two of the FREE gifts included with the Spellbinders All Club Crate for May. The Red, White and Bloom die set creates this fun patriotic hat along with the blooms, flag, and rocket accents. One of my favorite features is that the star panel in the hat is removable, making this die set incredibly versatile. Simply switch up the colors and you can create cards for all kinds of occasions beyond patriotic themes.

The Night Sky Celebration Embossing Folders is the perfect backdrop for this design and is another wonderfully versatile addition to your stash.

PRO-TIP – Try embossing it in black cardstock and lightly swiping a gold ink pad across the raised surface — the effect is absolutely magical.

How to create the Patriotic Die Cut Card | Spellbinders Red, White and Bloom

Create the Card Base:

Start by trimming a panel of Cosmic Sky cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attaching it to the front of a top-folding A2-sized white card base.

Next, trim a panel of white cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and emboss it with the Night Sky Celebration Embossing Folder before adhering it to the card front.

Die cut the Art Pieces

Use the Red, White and Bloom die set to die cut all the elements for the centerpiece. Assemble each piece using white liquid glue.

Attach the hat to the card front first using foam squares, then layer in the flag and rocket. Finish by tucking the flowers and leaves into the arrangement to create a full patriotic bouquet.

PRO-TIP: Layer several of the flowers for added depth and dimension.
