Simon Says Stamp Birthday Dragons

Good morning, you fabulous card makers! I have a fun and easy card to share with you today featuring the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Dragons set. Now, normally, large fire-breathing dragons don’t exactly scream “happy birthday”—but these are the cutest little dragons you’ve ever seen. One of them is even holding a balloon! LOL. They’re absolutely adorable, and you’re going to love coloring them.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Dragons Card:

Start with a side folding A2 sized white card base.  To this, attach a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Audrey Blue.

Next, use the “HAPPY” cover die to cut two panels in white.  Attach one panel, with the letters to a Craft Tacky Mat, and Ink blend an ombre rainbow effect.

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks Used:  Carnation, Lemonade, Limelicious, and Seafoam.

Lay the Craft Tacky Mat inside your Misti, remove the outside outline part of the die so only the letters remain.  Use the Swiss Dots background stamp and black ink to stamp the letters.

Then, attach the outline panel to the card front, then attach the letters inside.  Glue the second outline layer on top of the first.  This stacks the outline, making it appear taller and the letters inlaid.

Coloring and Die-cutting the Birthday Dragons:

Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Hammermill white cardstock inside your Misti.  Stamp the dragon images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then color with Copic Markers:
Colors used:
Teal:  BG10, 11, 13  Green:  YG01, 03, 13, 23  Pink:  RV10, 13, 14.

Next, cut them out with the coordinating dies, add foam squares to the back and set aside.

Use the “Happy” stamp set, to white heat emboss the word “birthday” onto a scrap of black cardstock.  Trim down and attach to the bottom right corner of the card.  Then attach the two dragons, one sitting on top of the word “birthday”.
