Since this release is a special collaboration with Tim Holtz. I couldn’t resist creating a Tim Holtz-inspired Christmas card and Tag to share with you – of course, in my two favorite colors, blue and green (No surprise there, LOL!). I also mixed in a few of my well-loved Tim Holtz products from my stash, and I’ve linked everything below for you.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Festive Watercolor Christmas Card and Tag.

Start by inking the flowers and foliage. Using a Misti for layered stamping, begin with the flowers. Ink the entire surface with Surf Ink and stamp. Then, with a small blending brush, add Seafoam ink and stamp again. For the final layer, lightly blend ocean ink around the edges and stamp once more to create depth and dimension.

Next, move on to the foliage. Ink the entire stamp with Pearfection and stamp. Add shading by blending Ocean ink around the edges with a small blending brush and stamp again. Once all the images are complete, use the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

How to assemble the Card.

Start with a white A2-sized top-folding card base and adhere a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel of Audrey Blue cardstock to the front.

Next, cut a piece of watercolor paper 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and white heat emboss the two snowflakes from the stamp set, stamping them randomly across the surface. Place the panel inside a splat box, and use Distress Oxide sprays to cover the surface. Once the ink is completely dry, gently wipe away any excess ink that may be sitting on top of the embossed snowflakes.

Distress Oxide Sprays used:
Evergreen Bough, Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged patina, Broken China

Then, die cut the panel using the largest Stacked Deckle die. Cut a mat from Gold Glimmer paper measuring 3-5/8″ x 5-1/8″. Adhere the card front to the gold panel with liquid glue, placing a heavy object on top until dry. Then, attach the layered piece to the card base with foam tape for added dimension.

Next, arrange the foliage and flowers along the left side of the card, adhering them with foam squares. Die cut stars from Gold Glimmer paper using the Swirling Stars die and scatter them across the background. Gold heat emboss a sentiment from the Festive Sentiments tamp set, die cut it with the coordinating die, and attach it to the right side of the card.

To finish, embellish the poinsettia centers with the small gems from the Gold Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

Creating the Tag:

All the steps are the same as for the card just on a smaller scale.

For the ribbon, I used May Arts White Wrinkled Faux Silk Ribbon and dyed it with the same Distress Oxide Sprays as the background.
