Hi, card-making friends. Welcome back. Today, I have Spellbinders Cozy Chick to share with you. This is my final felt stitching for the spring edition. This adorable little chick is cute in so many colors that it was hard to decide, but in the end, I chose this color combo mostly because it went with a few other things I have planned for my tiered tray.

The dies for this project cut really well and what I found worked best for me was cutting two pieces of both tail pieces. Sewing the yellow onto the peach on each side before sewing them together.
How to Sew the Spellbinders Cozy Chick:
Next, I cut two of the largest pieces of the wing both in peach, then one each of the medium and small.
Then I layered the top 3 pieces and stitched the scallops across each one. Next, I added the back large peach piece and then stitched around the entire wing.
For the combs, I stitched around the top side stitching the two pieces together.
Once the tail, and Combs were finished, I pinned them into place between the two green body pieces with some quilt batting inside and stitched around the entire bird.
TIP – don’t stitch this when you are tired and in bad light, haha. As you can see, a few of my stitches are uneven and I didn’t notice until this morning when I was completely done. It takes a bit of patience to stitch through 4 layers of felt and line up all the holes (on the combs especially).
Finally, I laid the almost finished bird on my work surface and used Bearly art glue to glue the wing on. Then, I glued on all the little circles, her beak and eyes. Plus the yellow pieces at the neck and tail.
If you are new to felt stitching, I wouldn’t order this as my first project, LOL. This one is a bit advanced for a beginner.

Oh my goodness, how cute Sandi! Perfect for spring! 🙂
thank you amy
This is adorable and I do love your choice of colours!
thank you Sharon, Spellbinders has some great color options with their felt.
I think this may be my favourite version I’ve seen of this chick. the colour palette is so unexpected but so pretty – those lovely peachy corals and mint are super fresh! Beautiful work Sandi.
Thank you Lisa, picking the colors was definitely fun
