Spellbinders Let’s Do Brunch Card

Today’s card is sunny side up using the new Spellbinders Let’s Do Brunch Die Set – part of the November Small Die of the Month Club (live Nov 6 – 27)!  This set is egg-stra adorable and packed with brunch-time favorites – from a bubbly glass of champagne to crispy toast, a sweet little waffle, and even the tiniest coffee cup you’ve ever seen.  You are going to love making the Spellbinders Let’s Do Brunch Card and coming up with all kinds of fun puny sentiments.

I couldn’t resist starting with my favorite dynamic duo – bacon and eggs – because honestly, they’re the ultimate brunch pairing (and the only relationship I truly trust, haha!).  There are so many fun pieces in this set, you’ll be frying up inspiration in no time.  Perfect for cards that say “You’re bacon me crazy!” or Let’s Toast to friendship”.

The stencil of the month club is serving up some sweet stripes and cherry vibes, and it totally cherry-picked my imagination!  It inspired me to grab my Washi Tape and Craft Tacky Mat to whip up my own homemade gingham paper a la carte.

The Tacky Mat’s build-in grid made it easy as pie – I simply lined up every second line to build my crisp checkered pattern.  A quick ink-blending brunch later, and viola – perfectly plaid paper in just minutes!

Photo showing how to create homemade gingham paper using Washi Tape and a Craft Tacky Mat. Strips of patterned washi tape are placed vertically over a turquoise and white ink-blended background, creating a checkered gingham effect. The Craft Tacky Mat’s built-in grid lines help align the tape evenly, while a teal blending brush and ink pad are visible to the side, demonstrating the ink-blending process.

How to create the Spellbinders Let’s Do Brunch Card:

1 – Whip up the card base.

Start by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Lay it onto the Craft Tacky Mat and use washi tape to mask off your strips to cook up that custom gingham background (see directions above).
Once your background is well-seasoned with ink, attach it to a top-folding A2 sized white card base.  (4-1/4″ x 11″ score and fold at 5-1/2″).  Viola – your table is set!

2 – Prep the Brunch Crew & Trimmings

Using the November Small Die of the Month  – Let’s Do Brunch, die-cut your happy bacon and egg duo, along with their rosy cheeks, arms and legs.  Glue them together and set them aside to sizzle with personality.

Finally, die-cut your sentiment, flower and leaves (I used the Citrus Spritz set for extra zest!) and layer them up.

3 – Plate it All Together

Pop your “dinner plate” into the card front using foam squares for that fluffy, pancake-level dimension.  Then, add your bacon and egg cuties right in the center – arm in arm, because brunch is better together.

Nestle your sentiment just beneath the plate (like a cozy napkin), and scatter your flowers and leaves to serve up a bright, cheerful finishing touch.

PRO-TIP:  Don’t overthink it – just let your creativity sizzle!  This set is an egg-cellent way to start your crafting day.
