It’s that time again, the 6th of the month, which means NEW CLUBS from Spellbinders. I’m starting with my favorite this month, the Spellbinders May Monthly Clubs Stitched. It’s called Stitched Taking Notes, and it’s so fun. A big overstuffed reading chair, 3 sets of dies for different books, a rug that can double as a coffee table, a plant, a lamp, and a cat (it should be a corgi, IMHO, haha. This all had a retro vibe, so I added one of the stencils from this month’s “write on” stencil set to create that funky wallpaper background.
Personal Note: I wanted to say sorry for being quiet last week. I’m on a deadline for making samples for a Spellbinders release coming in the fall, so I had my head down creating like crazy. While it’s a big ol’ secret now, I can’t wait to show them all to you at release time.

- Spellbinders Monthly Stitched Club May – Taking Notes
- Spellbinders Monthly Stencil Club May – Write On
- Spellbinders cardstock
- Simon Says Stamp Seafoam Ink Pad
How to create the Spellbinders May Monthly Clubs Stitched Card.
Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Seaside cardstock. Ink blend the Simon Says Stamp Seafoam Ink through the retro background stencil from the May Write On club. Attach it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
Next, die-cut all the elements from Spellbinders Cardstock:
- Chair – Teal Topaz
- Plant – Peridot and Rainforest
- Pot – Lilac
- Rug – Mulberry
- Lamp – Saffron
- Chair base and lamp trim – black
Stitch the chair with DMC #3812, stitch the lamp with DMC #742 before attaching the black trim to each.
Use foam squares to attach all the elements (except the flat rug).
I love this card’s retro vibe, so I decided to place a sentiment on the inside. I didn’t like its placement anywhere on the front.
You can sign up for SPELLBINDERS May Clubs between May 6th and May 27th. If any clubs are left over after the end of the month, you can find them in the Spellbinders Shop, but they will be at full price.
For the best value, join the Deluxe Caboodle and receive all the clubs plus a free bonus item. It’s a 50% Savings.
