Spellbinders Simple Postage Mosaic Card

Hey card-making friends, thanks so much for stopping in today. I sure appreciate it.  I’m sharing Spellbinders Simple Postage Mosaic Card today, created with the 3D Embossing Club for April 2025, Postage Mosaic.  This embossing folder is a WOW for sure.  With 17 postage panels and a large 5.5″ x 8.5″ surface, you can use this one to create A2, A7, Slimline, and Mini Slimline cards.  Or you can emboss it and cut out a panel or two to color and add to your cards, as I have today.

I’m embracing the less-is-more theory on this card.  I originally had 3 of the embossed panels all colored up, but once I cut my backgrounds and layered everything, it seemed overdone.  So, I scaled it down to one art piece.

I like to repeat a design element in my cards.  As I cut out my little art piece, I decided also to use the Nested Postage Labels dies on my layers to repeat the design.  I was getting close to what I wanted, but it was still missing something, so I added a gold mat.  Bling fixes everything. (like splatter, LOL).  It was still missing something, and I don’t have a postage cancellation stamp this big or dies to make the squiggly lines, so I decided on three thin strips of gold behind it to imitate the cancellation stamp.

How to create the Spellbinders Simple Postage Mosaic Card.

Start by creating an A2, top folding, white card base:  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Next, cut a white full-panel card front using the Nested Postage Labels and Tag Die Set.  Use the next die down to cut the second card front out of Spellbinders Waterfall cardstock.  Attach both of these to the card front with foam tape to add depth and shadow between the layers.

Then, emboss the panels using a piece of white cardstock, spritzed with water on both sides.  Trim down the panel, and once dry, color with copic markers.
Copics used:  Flowers:  R22, 32, E93 and Y17, Flower Centers: Y17, Leaves: YG03, YG17

Mat it with a slightly larger gold mat, and before adhering it to the card front, slide in 3 thin strips of the gold paper.

Finally, white Glimmer Foil the sentiment from the Post Edge Expression BetterPress Club for April and attach across the bottom center.
