Hi, cardmaking friends — welcome back! Today I’m excited to share the brand-new Spellbinders Yana’s City Holiday Collection and three festive Christmas cards I created with it. This collection launches today, and I have to say, the detail in these dies is absolutely incredible. You can customize your house in countless ways — from charming curtains in the windows to festive outdoor decorations, plus an adorable kitty for the windowsill and a big dog that can be placed inside or out. Yana truly thought of every detail in this release, and I think you’re going to fall in love with it just as much as I have.

The main City Holidays die set is packed with so many versatile elements, you can easily use just one or two pieces to create additional cards. I’ll admit, the house card took about two hours to die-cut all the pieces, but I had so much fun assembling and decorating them that the time flew by. While I probably wouldn’t mass-produce that particular design, it’s definitely one I’d send to a friend who I know treasures and keeps my handmade cards.

How to create the Spellbinders Yana’s City Holiday Collection – Card #1

Start with an Oceanside cardstock panel measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and attach it to a top-folding white A2-sized card base.

Next, die-cut the main house piece from Waterfall cardstock, along with all the windows and decorative elements. I used Pink Sand (retired), Chiffon, Rainforest, and Oceanside cardstock for the details. Add a gold star to the top of the Christmas tree in the living room for a festive touch.

PRO-TIP: I accidentally grabbed a piece of the retired Pink Sand for my Pink, a good replacement would be the Tutu Pink.

Assemble and glue all the pieces together, then adhere the completed house to the card front.

Finish by adding a die-cut tree on either side at the bottom, and a gold-foiled sentiment created with the Christmas Cheer Sentiments Glimmer Foiling Plates.

How to create the Spellbinders Yana’s City Holiday Collection Card #2

Start with a top-folding A2-sized white card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″), scored and folded at 4-1/4″.

Next, glimmer hot foil the sentiment in gold onto a Waterfall cardstock panel measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″, then attach it to the card base.

Die-cut five Christmas trees and lightly blend Distress Oxide Ink – Rustic Wilderness along the left side of each tree to add shadow. Adhere a pink pot to the base of each tree and a gold star at the top. Add a pink bow to the center tree for extra charm. Attach the trees to the card front with foam squares for dimension.

Finish by using a white gel pen to add falling snow around the trees.

How to create the Spellbinders Yana’s City Holiday Collection Card #3

Start with a top-folding white A2-sized card base.

Cut a Waterfall cardstock panel to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and attach it to the card front.

Die-cut the wreaths and bows, assemble them, and adhere them to the top and bottom of the card using foam squares for dimension.

Gold hot foil the sentiment onto a scrap of Waterfall cardstock, then die-cut it with the coordinating die. Attach the sentiment to the center of the card.

Finish by adding snowflake details around the design with a white gel pen.
