Stenciled Spring Floral Card | Altenew Rosa Gallica

Hi Crafty friends — welcome back!

Today I’m sharing a fresh and colorful spring card featuring the beautiful Altenew Build-A-Garden Rosa Gallica Stamp and stencil Set.  One of my favorite things about layering stencils is how effortlessly they create depth, shading, and gorgeous color transitions with very little effort.  Combined with a rich teal background and a bold die-cut sentiment, these florals absolutely glow against the darker card base.

This card has that perfect “spring is finally here” feeling with soft pink blooms, fresh greenery, pops of purple, and a little white splatter for extra texture and movement.  So, let’s jump in — I’ll walk you through exactly how I made it!

Altenew has been kind enough to sponsor a giveaway over on my Instagram page – Pop on over and leave a comment for a chance to win a $20. gift card.

Products Used to create the Stenciled Spring Floral Card:

Layered stenciled spring floral card featuring bright pink flowers, lavender blossoms, mint green leaves, white splatter, and a large die cut hello sentiment on a deep teal background using Altenew Rosa Gallica.

How to create the Stenciled Spring Floral Card | Altenew Rosa Gallica

Create the Card Base:

Trim a panel of Bazzill #300706 Ocean Oasis  cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attach it to the front of a white top-folding A2-sized card base.

Next, trim another teal panel to 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Use foam tape to attach it to the center of the card base.

Stamp and Stencil the Florals:

Stamp the large Rosa Gallica floral image onto white cardstock using Obsidian Ink.  Cover it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.

PRO-TIP – Clear embossing the stamped image with eliminate any ink bleed while you blend.

Using the coordinating layering stencils, blend inks over the flowers and leaves to build up soft spring color.  I decided to use one of the color combo’s in the booklet that comes with the stamp set, and I was very happy with how this color combo turned out.  It’s a beautiful garden-inspired palette.

The detailed stencil layers do all the work for you, creating beautifully blended florals in just a few minutes.

Once finished, die cut the floral image with the coordinating die.

Assemble the Card:

Adhere the floral image slightly off-center, allowing some of the leaves and flowers to extend beyond the panel edges for a more natural look.

Die cut the large “hello” sentiment three times from white cardstock.  Stack the layers together for extra thickness and shadow.  Adhere it across the lower portion of the floral arrangement.

The contrast between the bright spring florals and the rich teal background really makes the colors pop.

Color Combo Callout:

This spring-inspired color palette combines vibrant pink florals with cool mint greens and soft lavender accents for a fresh and cheerful look.  The deep teal background grounds the brighter tones and adds dramatic contrast, helping the florals become the true focal point of the card design.

I hope this card inspires you to pull out your layering stencils and create something bright and beautiful for spring!
