Hey crafty friends, welcome back. Today I’m sharing a bunch of cards I created with Woodware stamps and Tonic Studios Nuvo Shimmer Powder Backgrounds.
These are collage style stamps in a silhouette style and they create fabulous quick and easy cards without the fuss. Unfortunately, they are no longer available for sale but any collage type stamp with a solid or semi solid image would work for this technique.
Have you ever created a Collage Card?
and it took hours? Hunting down just the right stamps in the right sizes, using a stamp positioner to stamp them all, and then having to clean them all afterwards? Yep, that was fun – but guess what, I don’t have time for that anymore.
I created these backgrounds quickly and easily with the Nuvo Shimmer Powders and then stamped them all in the time it would take to do one collage card the old way.
These stamps have the entire collage in one stamp which is super cool.
The two stamps used today are “Bird on a Branch”, and “Dancing Dragonflies“. They are from Woodward stamps however I’m thinking they may be retired as I can’t find them in their website.
To create the backgrounds I used different combinations of the Nuvo Shimmer Powders. This Stuff is amazing! Unique combinations of shimmering mica powder and a vibrant dry pigment. The powders are available in four bold block colors and four multi colours and are activated by water.
I share a video below showing you just one of the many techniques you can use with these powders and I created a variety of different coloured backgrounds to share with you today.

This is my fav. I love how the Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder and Solar Flare (yellow) blended and created that pretty green colour. Just perfect for a “Bird on a Branch” I think, haha.

So pretty Sandi! Love the colors and those images are stunning!
thanks Amy, those crystals are just a blast to play with
Is there lots of shimmer when they’re dry? I couldn’t tell in the video. I guess they’re a bit like shimmery Brusho’s?
totally lots of shimmer Kathy, there is gold mica in the crystals, it’s like the prettiest crystals I have used yet.
