St. Paddy’s Day Glimmer Cards

Hi, card-making friends, and welcome back.  I have a couple of St. Paddy’s Day Glimmer Cards to share with you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  I combined a few of the new Spellbinders Clubs for these again.  The main focus is the BetterPress Club of the Month, Mosaic Quilted Memories.  I thought the image looked a bit like a shamrock, so I created two panels, one in color and one gold Glimmer Foiled over the New (and very lovely) MINT cardstock from Spellbinders – I LOVE this stuff.

Of course, you all know you can Glimmer Foil with a BetterPress Plate, one of the great things about them is double-duty.  As I LOVE to foil, I decided the gold outline of a Glimmer foil would look great with these stenciled colors.  I like Glimmer foil on Hammermill White cardstock; it accepts the glimmer really well.

How to create the St. Paddy’s Day Glimmer Cards.

Products used:

Start by Glimmer Foiling a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white cardstock with Polished Brass Glimmer Foil.

NOTE:  I add an extra shim when glimmer foiling with a BetterPress Plate.

Tips for the Colored St. Paddy’s Day Glimmer Card:

Start by securing the piece to your work surface.  Then, starting with the inside panel Stencil, use blending brushes to add the ink.  Add the darkest colored inks to the center panels.

INKS USED:

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks: Linked at the end of this post.
Melon, Cantaloupe, Sherbet

Sage, Aspen, Pine

Next, switch out the stencil for the outside panel of the shamrock shape and ink the lightest color.

Then, switch out the stencil again and fill in the background leaves using the medium-colored ink.

Next, attach the panel to a top folding A2-sized white card base.  4-1/4″ x 11″ score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Die-cut the flowers and leaves from the Family and Friends Vignettes, Large Die of the Month Club, using Carrot, terra cotta, and Fern cardstock—all new colors from Spellbinders.

Finally, add the sentiment, glimmer foiled on black.  Embellish with Gold Smooth Disk Color Essential Sequins.

St. Paddy’s Day Glimmer Cards – #2

Start by using Polished Brass Glimmer foil to foil the BetterPress Plate onto a panel of Mint cardstock.

Next, attach it to an A2-sized White card base.

Then, embellish it with the same flower and leaves as above and the Gold Smooth Disk Color Essential Sequins.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

An Irish Blessing:

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.

The rains fall soft upon your fields.
