AALL and Create MemoryDex Card Holder and Challenge

Hey card-making friends!  I have something super fun and a little bit different to share with you today.  AALL and Create is hosting a 3-month MemoryDex Card Challenge, and they invited me to join the design team for the event – of course I said yes!.  It’s the perfect excuse to play with all the goodies I picked up during their Black Friday sale, LOL.  Today I’m kicking things off by sharing how I decorated my MemoryDex Card Holder box.

I chose the XL MemoryDex Card Holder because I wanted the extra space along the sides for decorating.  It’s made from sturdy chipboard and is really easy to assemble with just a bit of glue.  Once it was built, I covered it using the AALL & Create Press Paperie, #PA-28.  The bright, mixed-media style of this paper is fabulous and full of personality.  I decided to decorate the front panel first, and I’ll continue embellishing the sides and back as we move through the challenge – so stay tuned for lots more creativity to come!

The box is photographed against a teal background with the sandimaciver.com watermark at the bottom.

Front of the Box:

Once I had the Press Paperie all glued into place, I went through my stamps with my theme in mind.  SUNSHINE, LOVE, FRIENDSHIP etc.  I used #360 Wish and #974 Forever (for the dog).  Then, I pulled the bird, sun and cloud from the Ephemera pack #EP-62 2Up 2Down.

I used two sheets of the Press Paperie and fussy cut out my favorite words and colors.  I traced the pieces onto the paper before I glued the box together, and then cut off the trace lines.

Again, I traced them before gluing the box together and did inside and outside on both.

I’m in LOVE with the Press Paperie, it’s so creative, and the package contains lots of different colors and designs.

Ok, that’s it for my post today, I’ll be back soon with my first theme card to place in the box.  See you over in the AALL & Create Fanatics Facebook Group.
