Hey card-making friends, welcome back. Today, I have something a bit different to share: a BetterPress Grunge Card. I know, you’re used to me die-cutting or coloring pretty flowers in my cardmaking adventures, but I still had a couple of items from the Lisa Horton Wildflowers release to work with. So I decided to combine them to create a Tim Holtz-inspired Grunge Card.

Products Used for today’s card:
- Sending Smiles Sentiments stamp and Die Set
- Script Text BetterPress/Glimmer Plate
- Splatters BetterPress/Glimmer Plate
How to create the BetterPress Grunge Card
Start with the Splatter Plates in the BetterPress, with a clean 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of white cardstock. Using Distress Oxide Inks, in Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry, and Mustard Seed, ink the splatters and press them.
Next, move the splatter plates around and press them again. I like the way the distress Oxide Inks layer over each other, creating some great multicolored splatters.
Then, clean and remove the splatter plates, and place the script text plate on the BetterPress platform. Ink it in black, and then use a damp cloth to wipe some off. Press this.
Layering these press plates in this way creates a totally cool grunge effect that I really liked for this card.
Finally, attach the grunge panel to a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ black panel and then to an A2-sided white card base.
Finishing the card.
Start by using the Sending Smiles Sentiment Stamp and Die bundle. Die-cut the sentiment in black and white, and white heat-emboss the smaller ones on black cardstock.
Next, die-cut the small ones using the coordinating die and choose one to go with the main word.
Finally, use Foam squares to attach two to the center of the card.
