Layered Gladiolus Postage Card

Good morning, card-making friends.  I’m playing with a new release from Spellbinders, Lisa Horton, Wildflowers, and I have created a Layered Gladiolus Postage Card to share with you today.  This latest release has many elements I love, and I used four of them in today’s card.  The Layered Gladiolus Die set has beautiful etchings.  Next, we have the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals; these are amazing for layering your backgrounds.  Behind that, the BetterPress Script Text, LOVE this thing, and you will see it lots.  Finally, the Very Best Wishes Sentiments, that all emboss at once and die cut all at once, love that!

How to create the Layered Gladiolus Postage Card

Start with a top-folding A2-sized white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Next, cut a panel 3-3/4″ x 5″, and use the BetterPress and Script Text with black ink to create the background.

Then, die-cut the largest of the Postage Label dies in black from a piece of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cardstock.  Attach the script text panel to it, and then attach it to the card base.

Next, die-cut the largest black oval panel and the white one-step-down stitched oval panel. Glue them together and attach them to the center of the card using foam squares to add dimension.

Adding the art Piece:

Die-cut all the pieces of the Gladiolus. Lay them all on a sticky mat and color them using small blending brushes.

I used Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks:

Guava, Watermelon, Cherry, Sprout, Fairway, Field, and Zest.

Glue them together and attach them to the oval panel’s center with foam squares.

Finally, white heat emboss the sentiments, then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  Attach one to the bottom of the oval panel.

You are such a great inspiration. I look at your cards and think, “what a great great idea”. I love the lack and white background. Beautiful card.
