Hi card-making friends, welcome back! Today, I’m excited to share my MemoryDex Challenge Card for Theme #25 – BIRTHDAYS for the AALL & Create Challenge. My birthday is next week, so I pretended to make this card for myself, adding all my favorite elements….Cake, Doggies, Flowers and Sunshine. I laid that out on an ink-blended background for a bright, fun vibe.
If you love AALL & Create products as I do, I hope you’ll jump in and play along too. This fun, creative challenge runs from January through March and includes 30 different themes to inspire you. To enter, simply upload your finished MemoryDex cards to the AALL & Create Fanatics Facebook group. Just remember – since it’s a MemoryDex Challenge, MemoryDex products must be used in your project to qualify. I can’t wait to see what you create!

How to create the MemoryDex #25 Birthday Card
1 – Create the MemoryDex Base
Begin by die-cutting the Spring Sprouts base from white Hammermill cardstock. Ink blend the panel from bottom to top using Distress Oxide Inks in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Prize Ribbon creating a smooth ombre transition.
Once the ink is completely dry, lightly mist the surface with water using a Distress Sprayer to activate the ink and create soft texture. Allow it to dry thoroughly, then finish by splattering white paint over the panel for added interest and dimension.

2 – Stamp, Color and Cut out the elements:
Stamp the images into white Hammermill cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (copic friendly). Color with copic markers or a medium of your choice, then carefully fussy-cut them out.
Stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” on black cardstock with VersaMark Ink, heat emboss with white embossing powder, and trim into two separate word strips.
3 – Add Embellishments
Once the images were adhered tot he MemoryDex card, there wasn’t much open space left – but you know me, I love a little sparkle! I added a light sprinkling of tiny gems above the flowers and around the sun for that extra pop of birthday bling.
Alright, now it’s our turn! Create your own card and share it in the group – I can’t wait to see what you make.
