My Final Two Spellbinders Club Cards

Today, I’m sharing my Final Two Spellbinders Club Cards. These fun designs combine the Stitched Die, Glimmer, BetterPress, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month — and of course, I couldn’t resist using those adorable die-cut seagulls one more time!

A hand-made card with a die-cut seagull dressed as a ship captain, standing on a stitched helm with a Glimmer foiled net background

Products used for the My Final Two Spellbinders Club Cards:

Handmade nautical-themed greeting card featuring a cute die-cut seagull in a sailor hat and striped shirt, perched above a stitched ship’s wheel with the phrase “Ahoy, Matey!” on a blue ocean background with netting pattern; designed by Sandi MacIver using Spellbinders Paper Arts products. Surrounded by decorative starfish on a teal surface.

How to create the My Final Two Spellbinders Club Cards Card #1

Start with a white, A2-sized, top-folding card base.

Cut a white card front to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ink-blend it using Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass. Once dry, place it over the Cast Away Glimmer Plate and glimmer it using the Opal Glimmer Hot Foil from this month’s kit. This creates a soft blue gradient background with a net-like opal overlay, reminiscent of ocean waves or a fishing net.

Die-cut the large, dimensional stitched ship’s wheel and stitch it with gold DMC cotton thread. Position it at the bottom center of the card—it adds realistic texture and a nautical touch.

Next, die-cut the ocean waves using Cosmic Sky, Malibu, and Breeze cardstock. Stitch each layer with gold DMC cotton and layer them behind the wheel to add depth and movement.

Finally, die-cut the adorable seagull, complete with a white sailor hat, (blue band) and a red-and-white striped shirt. Place him standing atop the ship’s wheel for a playful focal point.

Handmade nautical thank-you card featuring a die-cut sailor seagull holding semaphore flags on a blue ombré background with rope knot pattern. Sentiment reads 'Many thanks from this salty sailor.' Designed by Sandi MacIver for Spellbinders Paper Arts, surrounded by starfish on a teal backdrop

How to create the My Final Two Spellbinders Club Cards Card #2

The first two steps for this card are the same as Card #1:

Next, create a gradient ombré of ocean blues using Distress Oxide Inks, transitioning from light aqua at the top to deeper blue at the bottom. Then, use the BetterPress system with the Harbor Weave plate to add a repeating pattern of nautical rope knots in black, creating subtle texture and visual interest.

Next, build the whimsical die-cut seagull from the Small Die of the Month set. Dressed as a sailor—complete with a blue hat, red scarf, and bright orange boots—he holds two semaphore flags (one red, one yellow), adding a playful nautical twist.

Finally, finish the design by layering a sentiment below the seagull using this month’s Clear Stamp and Die set. The mix of flowing script and bold, all-caps serif fonts gives it a fun and eye-catching feel.
