Wow, December 18th already! The days are absolutely flying by as we race towards the holidays. I have another Christmas card to share with you today featuring the Simon Says Stamp Gathering Holly Embossing Folder and coordinating stencil, from the DieCember® release.
This is a nice, quick card that comes together in no time at all – emboss, stencil, splatter, done! All you really have to do is pick your colors (the hardest part, LOL). At this stage of the season, fast and easy is exactly what we need, right?
I finally got all of my Christmas cards in the mail yesterday and finished up my shopping for baking supplies, which officially starts on Friday. We learned years ago not to bake too early….because then we eat it all and end up baking again – not to mention the extra 10 pounds that magically appear, haha….Just part of the holiday traditions, right?
Speaking of cards,,,, let’s dive into today’s project shall we?

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Gathering Holly Christmas Card
Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and emboss it using the Gathering Holly Embossing Folder
PRO-TIP: – Lightly spritz the cardstock on both side with water before embossing. This helps break down the paper fibers, giving you a deeper embossed image without tearing.
Next, once panel is completely dry, attach it to a Craft Tacky Mat (I like the 7 x 7 size, because it leaves plenty of room around the edges for the stencil to stick).
Using smaller blending brushes, add your ink blending. I used Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks in Sprout, Pearfection, Watermelon and Sweets.
Finally, when the ink is dry, place the panel into a splat box and splatter it with the Perfect White Splat Paint. I also diluted the pink and green inks with water and added a few coordinating splatters for extra interest.
To finish the card, mount the art piece to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam tape for added dimension. White heat emboss a sentiment onto a scrap of black cardstock and add to the top left corner.
