Hi card-making friends, welcome back! Today I’m sharing something a little different—this vibrant Simon Says Stamp Sensational Seashells Rainbowed birthday card. The 3D embossing folder is part of the recent Friend Like You release and includes coordinating dies for many of the shell images. I used two of those dies to highlight the heat-embossed sentiment and add extra dimension. Since it’s a birthday card, I went with a bold ink-blended rainbow background to amplify the celebratory feel and make the design truly festive.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Sensational Seashells Rainbowed Card:
This vibrant birthday card is quick and easy to make—just grab your favorite rainbow ink colors and start blending! The deeply etched 3D embossed design beautifully catches the ink, making the seashell details pop.
Here’s how to create it:
-
Lightly spritz both sides of a white cardstock panel (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) with water. Place it inside the Simon Says Stamp Sensational Seashells embossing folder and run it through your die-cutting machine.
-
Once the panel is dry, set it on a protected surface. Use blending brushes to softly apply your rainbow of inks across the embossed design.
-
Adhere the inked panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2″).
-
Place the card in a splatter box and add white and gold ink splatters for shimmer and texture.

Adding the Sentiment:
- Start by selecting a sentiment from the Under Sea Friends stamp set and white heat embossing it onto a scrap of black cardstock. Use the coordinating die to cut it out, then attach the sentiment to the bottom left corner of the card front with foam squares for dimension.
- For added interest, die-cut two seashell shapes from white cardstock using the Sensational Seashells coordinating dies. Place them inside the embossing folder and run them through your die-cutting machine to add rich texture.
- Ink blend the embossed shells using Surf and Orchid inks, then layer and adhere them to the bottom right side of the card. This not only balances the design but also adds depth and draws the eye to the sentiment.
- Finally, embellish with a few clear gems sprinkled around the sentiment.
