The design showcases layered poinsettia flowers in pink with yellow centers, surrounded by teal and green die-cut foliage arranged in a wreath. A scalloped teal frame highlights the sentiment "So Very Merry" in bold red and white lettering with a gold shadow. Sparkling blue gem embellishments add festive shine, set against a clean white card base with a pink and teal background layer

Two handmade Christmas cards created with the Spellbinders All About Christmas release by Lisa Horton. The top card features layered stars in teal, pink, and silver glitter with a bold "Merry" sentiment on a stitched white panel over a teal card base. The bottom card showcases a scalloped teal frame with pink poinsettias, layered green and teal foliage, and the sentiment "So Very Merry" accented with blue gem embellishments. Both cards use non-traditional holiday colors for a modern Christmas design.

I chose my non-traditional Christmas colors for today’s cards, using Spellbinders Cardstock in:  Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Tutu, Silver and White.

For the inking, I added Distress Oxide Ink:  Broken China and Festive Berries to bring in a soft yet festive touch.

Handmade Christmas card created with the Spellbinders All About Christmas dies. The design features a scalloped teal frame layered over a white background softly inked in blue. Two bright pink poinsettias with yellow centers and teal-green foliage frame the sentiment "So Very Merry" in bold red with a gold shadow. Sparkling blue gem accents add festive detail, and the card is styled with pink and teal mats for a modern, non-traditional holiday color palette.

How to create the Spellbinders All About Christmas Cards – Card 1

Start with a white top folding A2-sized card base:  5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – score and fold at 4-1/4″.

Next, die cut the Scallop frame from Waterfall cardstock, the rounded corner panel from gold, and the smaller stitched panel from white.  Layer and adhere these pieces to the card front using foam tape for dimension.

Then, die cut all the foliage pieces and lightly ink blend them to add depth and shading.  Die cut the 3 layers of the sentiment,  ink blending the Merry with Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink before stacking them.  Place the card base into a Misti, dry-fit the die-cut sentiment, then stamp the coordinating smaller sentiment in Broken China.

Finally, use foam squares to attach the sentiment to the center of the card, arrange the foliage around the edges, and finish by embellishing with the Aquamarine AB Color Essential Gems for a festive sparkle.

The bold "Merry" sentiment is die cut in silver glitter and white, layered across the stars. The card base is teal, accented with a pink mat underneath, creating a fun non-traditional holiday color palette.

How to create the Spellbinders All About Christmas Card 2.

Start by mounting a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Spellbinders Waterfall cardstock to a top folding A2 sized white card base cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.

Next, die- cut the stitched panel in white and attach it to the center of the card front using foam tape to add dimension.

Then, die-cut a variety of stars in different sized from Teal Topaz, Tutu and Silver Glimmer cardstock.  Arrange them across the card front adhering them with Bearly Art Glue and Foam squares to add depth and dimension.

Finally, die-cut the Merry from the Silver Glimmer cardstock along with the background die from white.  Layer the pieces together then attach the sentiment with foam squares across the center of the largest star for a bold focal point.

  1. Such pretty cards Sandi! Love the sparkly die cuts and the delicate flowers and framing are beautiful! 🙂

  2. So pretty. I can see this used for a “non-Christmas” card as well. Never can go wrong with a little play on teal!
